Year: 2020 | Sound Art Installation
Description
Randrum, or The Random Drum is a sound art installation that generates a variety of rhythms and timbres in real time to produce constantly evolving drum patterns. The Randrum is unpredictable, and can result in quickly changing meters, polyrhythms, or calm patterns. It will perform for as long as it is running. It is turned on and off via a switch located along the back plate. It is embedded with a Raspberry Pi and Arduino. The sound is produced through the Pure Data open source visual programming language.
